NOW OPEN: Warlick Family YMCA
Since the 1880s, the YMCA has been part of our community. We’ve evolved over the decades, adding locations and programs to meet changing needs.
An ever-changing community has led to a new chapter in the rich history of the Gaston County Family YMCA. Together with YMCA volunteer and community leaders, we’ve launched a campaign to build a dynamic new YMCA on Robinwood Lake. The new Y will take advantage of this beautiful and unique location, using the waterfront, forests and greenspace, along with a state-of-the-art new building, to bring the YMCA mission to life.

YMCA Ground Breaking Ceremony: Wednesday, May 25, 2016
On a beautiful day in May children from our YMCA Afterschool program had the honor of breaking ground for our new state-of-the-art facility on Robinwood Lake. This special event was attended by over 200 local leaders, members, staff, and officials.
Andy Warlick, Gene Matthews, Dr. Richard Rankin, George Henry, and Tony Sigmon shared the vision of the new YMCA and what it will do for our community. This site will feature a 34-acre reservoir, a 48,000-square-foot complex, outdoor chapel, miles of hiking trails, and 2 pool aquatic center.

Warlick serves as co-chairman of the building campaign for the new Y along with Richard Rankin, Gene Matthews, and George Henry, but each of those men pointed to Warlick as the leader of that four-man team.
