WELCOME - The Gaston County Family YMCA is dedicated to providing high quality, affordable, age-appropriate after school care for your child when you cannot be there yourself.    Our values-based programs, enhancing the child’s spiritual, physical, social, intellectual and emotional growth, have been shown to improve school attendance, conduct and relationships with adults.    The “Everybody Plays, Everybody Wins” approach allows your child to enjoy success in a variety of activities, including arts, sports, outdoor education, academics, and relationships.  The YMCA Afterschool program is open to all.  Financial assistance is available.

WHEN - After School Care operates from the time school is dismissed until 6:00 PM, including all day care during Teacher Work Days. The program schedule follows the Gaston County Schools Calendar.

Pick Up Sites (Students at these sites are picked up and travel to the Central YMCA)

School Based Sites (Students remain at these sites with YMCA staff and programs)

** DSS Vouchers will be accepted for Sherwood and Gardner Park for the 2009-2010 school year.

Cost of program
Registration Fee:
$45 once per school year

School based sites:
$45.00/week with YMCA Family Membership
$60.00/ for program participants

35% off for Children of Full time Gaston County Schools Employees

YMCA site:
$55/week with YMCA Family Membership
$70/week for Program Participants
35% off for Children of Full time Gaston County Schools employees
$45/week for all Middle School students with a YMCA Family Membership, Participants and Full Time Gaston County Employees
