Spencer Mountain 10 Mile & 5K

Spencer Mountain 10 Mile & 5K

Participate in the Spencer Mountain 10 Mile & 5K this year! Proceeds benefit LIVESTRONG at the YMCA.

Saturday, November 7th. Both races begin at @ 8:00 a.m. at Warlick School, 1316 Spencer Mtn. Road, Gastonia, NC 28054. Some GPS devices may note this as Ranlo, NC.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a twelve-week, small group program designed for adult cancer survivors. This program fulfills the important need of supporting the increasing number of cancer survivors who find themselves in the transitional period between completing their cancer treatment and the shift to feeling physically and emotionally strong enough to attempt to return to their normal life or their “new normal”. The program is conducted outside of medical facilities to emphasize that LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is about health, not disease.

Can I walk the 10 Mile or 5K?

The 5K is open to walkers and runners alike. However, the 10 Mile course is limited to 2 1/2 hours so we can fully open up the roads to traffic.

The Gaston County Family YMCA offers four camp locations throughout the county during the 10-week summer following the Gaston County Schools calendar.
