Being a member of the YMCA is like becoming an active member in a community that shares your interests. A non-profit association, the Y is an active part in the Gaston County community delivery hope and support to thousands.
Membership at the Central Y also provides unlimited access to all Gaston County Family YMCA branches and most YMCA’s across the country participate in the “Away” program. This will allow you to use your YMCA pass at any YMCA across the USA (additional fee may apply).

Financial Assistance
The YMCA is a membership organization open to all people. Through our annual Scholarship Campaign, the YMCA provides financial assistance for memberships and programs based on the needs of the applicant and the availability of funds. Individuals needing financial assistance may apply at the Member Services desk.

Encourage Your Employees To Be Active
If you work for a company that is a Business Partner of the Gaston Family YMCA, you may qualify for benefits ranging from 50% off the joiners fee to significant discounts for programs and other benefits. Bringing a Guest
Members are encouraged to bring guests when they visit the Y. Members will receive 3 guest passes per unit per year as part of the membership package. Members may purchase additional guest passes at $10 per guest. Guests who wish to use the facility and are not accompanied by a member will be charged $15.00 per visit. Guests must complete and sign the Guest Waiver form and show ID. A responsible adult, parent or guardian must sign the Guest Waiver form for guests under 18. Guests under 16 years of age must have a responsible adult present in the facility.
You are welcome at other YMCAs
Your membership card allows you to visit most other YMCAs anywhere in the country up to 3 times per month. Contact the YMCA you plan to visit for their AWAY policy.
