Through public support and contributions to the Gaston County Family YMCA and its branches, we are able to provide access to quality programs and services to everyone regardless of ability, gender, age, or socio-economic status. We thrive on serving as many people in the community as possible, but cannot do so without your help. Every day nearly 100 programs and services help shape our neighborhoods, but the call for assistance keeps growing.
Summer Camp
Say Hello to Summer!
Camping, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. But few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities.
The Gaston County Family YMCA offers six camp locations throughout the county during the 11-week summer. Please see the information below to find that camp that best suits your family.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a twelve-week, small group program designed for adult cancer survivors. This program fulfills the important need of supporting the increasing number of cancer survivors who find themselves in the transitional period between completing their cancer treatment and the shift to feeling physically and emotionally strong enough to attempt to return to their normal life or their “new normal”. The program is conducted outside of medical facilities to emphasize that LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is about health, not disease.
