Fall Flag Football
Ages: 5-14 (In 4 age divisions, 5-6, 7-8, 9-11, and Middle School 12-14)
Youth Flag Football is a great sports opportunity to play football in a contact free league. Players will learn football fundamentals and game concepts in a fun, safe environtment where they can learn how to work together and succeed together. Register today for this co-ed, recreational league.
Registration: Now – October 13th. This program does have a registration limit. There is a $10 non-refundable late fee for all players registered after October 13th, if space is available.

Practice and Games: Practice begins the week of October 27th. Teams will have 4 practices before games start, with one on their practice day (Monday or Tuesday), and one practice on Saturday for 2 weeks. Games will follow with each team playing games on both their practice day and Saturday for the rest of the season starting the week of November 12th. The final game of this 6-game season is scheduled for December 6th. There will be no games on November 29th due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, and there will be no games on Monday/Tuesday, December 1st and 2nd due to the McAdenville Christmas Lights. Games on Saturday, November 22nd will take place at the Central Family YMCA in Gastonia due to the ChristmasTown Bowl being held in McAdenville.
Where: All games and practices (with the exception of November 24th) will take place at the Pharr Family YMCA 208 Main Street McAdenville unless otherwise noted.
Coaches: We need volunteer coaches in every age group. Please consider coaching this season by indicating so on your registration form or by contacting Evan Rankin or Ben Oeser at the Pharr Family YMCA. The coaches meeting will be held on Monday, October 20th at 7:00 pm at the Stowe Family YMCA.

Middle School Madness
Ages: Middle School Students
Join the Stowe Family YMCA each month for an evening of dancing, basketball, video games, and more! The Y is just for teens! We will offer a dance, basketball and/or dodgeball tournaments, video games, pizza, snacks, swimming for all who attend from 8:00 pm – 10:30 pm.

Swim Lessons – Youth
Ages: 6 – 13 years
Youth Swim Lessons promote stroke development, personal water safety, water sports, rescue and personal growth are included. During all swim lessons, participants and instructors find opportunities to learn and demonstrate the YMCA core values, (Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Faith).

The Gaston Cup
Run with Purpose
The 2nd Annual Gaston Cup focuses on corporate health and wellness. The Gaston Cup Series provides businesses with a long-term initiative that helps establish healthy lifestyle changes for their employees.
Micro, Small , Medium and Large businesses complete in a series of run/walk races throughout the year. The business with the highest employee participation percentage will win their category Gaston Cup for that year.

Home School Wellness
Join the Fun!
The Stowe YMCA hosts Home School Wellness! This twelve week program will focus on skill development, team sports, wellness, and swimming! We will spend 6 weeks in the pool and 6 weeks in the gym for a combination of activities that promote healthy living, confidence, and social interaction.
Home School Wellness:
Ages: K-6th grades, split into age groups
Classes: Six weeks of swim development, followed by six weeks of gym/fitness classes.
Fall 2014 Times and Dates:
Stowe Wednesdays, September 24th – December 10th from 1-2 pm.
Costs: Member – $45 for single child, $85 for family
Program Participants – $65 for single child, $105 for family
Recognition: Certificate of completion and swim class credentials.

Home School Wellness Parent Pass
The YMCA is here to support healthy living in our community. We encourage parents and guardians to focus on their health while their student participates in the Home School Wellness program. Visit the Member Services Desk to register for this offer valid from September 24th to December 10th and allowing entry for one guardian to utilize the Stowe YMCA facilities between the hours of 1:00 and 2:00 pm on Wednesdays.

Parents Night Out
Ages: 3 years through 5th grade
Once a month the YMCA is THE PLACE for kids! Kids can enjoy an evening at the YMCA while keeping busy with actives such as swimming, baking, playing games, eating dinner, and being silly while their parents are out and about!
Children must be potty trained.

Ensuring A Brighter Future
The YMCA provides a quality, Christian-oriented experience that is safe, fun, and convenient. Y After School operates throughout Gaston County providing enrichment from school dismissal until 6:00 pm daily. During this time we aim to shape character by modeling, teaching, and reinforcing positive values to all students. The YMCA believes in the character development traits of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith. The YMCA offers two on-site After School locations and fifteen off-site locations throughout the county.
The Stowe YMCA host the teens and pre-teens of the area to meet new friends, connect with teammates, find fun and motivation to get in shape and feel better during Tuesday and Thursday evening sessions.
