For kids, Y camp is a fun way to enjoy the summer. For moms and dads, it's a way to give their children a positive developmental experience. The Stowe Family YMCA offers day camps to serve children ages 2 through 15. All camps also go to Karyae Park (see parent packet for schedule and more information).
During the summer, we'll also offer swim lessons for Kinder Camp through 3rd Grade! If your child is registered for swim lessons through summer camp, we will make sure that your child is changed and ready to go for their lesson. This is a great opportunity to give your child the chance to learn water safety and feel the pride associated with learning something new.

Whether it's through singing or swimming, through nature hikes or archery, counselors at the Gaston County Family YMCA day camps have led kids in developing good values—and having fun—for more than 50 summers.
Camp Ogopogo (rising K-5th grade), Teen Camp (rising 6th-8th grades), and C.I.L.T. (Campers In Leadership Training, rising 8th-10th) are three options. All of these camps are held at First Baptist Church of Gastonia at 2650 Union Road.
Gaston County Family YMCA day camps provide kids having fun while they learn how to make new friends, building new skills and growing in self-reliance. Many Y camps use a natural setting to teach youth about the wonders of the world around them and how they can take good care of it. Some offer special sessions on academics, sports, arts, teen adventure or leadership. All camps also go to Karyae Park (see parent packet for schedule and more information).
For kids, Y camp is a fun way to enjoy the summer. For moms and dads, it's a way to give their children a positive developmental experience.
