Swimming and other aquatics activities are excellent ways to get the physical activity needed for a healthy life. Following guidance from the CDC and local agencies, we’ve modified our pool procedures and aquatics programs to ensure everyone’s health and safety.
Processes:
- Members will step on a sanitizing mat and/or dunk shoes in sanitizing solution upon entering pool.
- Swim prep stations will be spaced out to ensure social distancing.
- Sanitized equipment is available for use for all classes
- Upon exit, members will place any used shared equipment in the “used” bin.
The Stowe Family YMCA pool requires a reservation.
- To promote social distancing a reservation is required to be in the aquatics area. Members are asked to reserve a time for any water activity prior to visiting the YMCA.

- Reservations are available at Stowe for:
- Lap swimming
- Family swim
- Members are allowed to make one reservation per day
- Members should not arrive more than 5 minutes prior to their reservation.
- If you are more than five minutes late your reservation may be released to a waitlisted member.

- Members are asked to wear their swimsuit to the pool if possible, and will be assigned an area on the pool deck for personal belongings
