We work hard to see that every child, family and community has what they need to overcome obstacles and turn them into positive life changes. Everyday we strive to provide the resources our neighborhoods need to address some of the pressing social issues they face including; education, employment, substance abuse, housing and child welfare.

Diversity and Inclusion
At the Gaston County Family YMCA, we believe in honoring our Christian mission, living our cause, acting in accordance with our values, and placing the greater good above self. It is our belief that, in a diverse world, we are stronger when our doors are open to all. Diversity and inclusion are core tenets of our mission “for all.” Our commitment to inclusion programs creates better communities, a better country, and a better world… for a better us. We work to ensure that everyone in our community feels welcome and fully engaged as participants, members, staff and volunteers.
We believe in developing strong community, both home and abroad, and that is why we do our best to facilitate partnerships to share knowledge and resources about diverse histories and cultures in our own neighborhoods and overseas.
Volunteerism & Giving
The YMCA is sustained by the generosity of the communities we serve, and is at the core of our existence. We are only able to give back to our Gaston County community and provide the support we do through the help we receive from public and private donors.
Our community’s needs are constantly changing, and the opportunities for our services are endless. Whether it is helping to promote a greater sense of community within our neighborhoods, cities or even when boundaries don’t exist, we use all of the help we can get. Many times throughout the year we partner with local organizations to champion healthy community causes. If you want to help, or think we can help you, we want to be there every step of the way.
