At the Gaston County Family YMCA, everything we do is guided by our Mission and our commitment to serve and support the community. This is even more critical now. When you belong to the Y, you’re not only a member of a health and wellness facility, you’re a member of an organization dedicated to strengthening our community. In difficult times, our YMCA pivots in response to community needs and finds ways to use our resources to offer solutions.
YOU CAN HELP
Your membership helps support our efforts to meet the critical needs in our community during this crisis. In the past week, we have partnered with local agencies to use our YMCA bus for food distribution for local children who need us most at the Stowe Family YMCA. We transitioned the Pharr Family YMCA Ballroom into an Emergency Blood Drive site with the American Red Cross. Currently, we’re working with local agencies to develop child care options for health care workers.
But we can’t do it alone. Our community is counting on you.
STAY WITH US
By keeping your membership dues active during this time we can remain fully focused on our efforts to help our community stay strong in spirit, mind and body. If you choose to keep your membership active, we are deeply grateful for your generosity. You don’t need to take any action to retain this status.
DRAFT TO DONATION – Click Here
Convert your membership to a tax-deductible donation to help your community during this time. Your monthly membership draft will remain the same, and your funds will be fully dedicated to assisting your community. When we resume normal operations, your donation will end. At that time, we’ll convert you back to regular membership. The YMCA will provide a tax receipt of your charitable donation at the end of the year.

This outbreak has created enormous uncertainty for us all, but how we respond is within our control. As soon as it became apparent that our Y needed to change course to support our community, we did. Our teams immediately mobilized to explore ways to support you and our community.
By continuing to be a part of our Y you’re helping us deploy and expand these resources and services.
We are continuing our partnership to distribute food to children and families in need.
We are working with the American Red Cross for a emergency Blood Drives at both the Pharr Family YMCA and Cherryville Family YMCA.
With recent school closures, families are adjusting to a new normal. It can be overwhelming to contemplate what to do with new-found time. Take a look at the information compiled by our friends at the YMCA of the Triangle for parents and children – educational and fun resources.
We continue to share resources to keep our members and participants safely connected, active and healthy during this time in spirit, mind and body, including access to the online workout video library.
