OPEN PART TIME POSITIONS (Non-Seasonal)

Cherryville YMCA Location

  • Afterschool Counselor – Under the Supervision of the Site Director and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Afterschool Counselor will be responsible for the supervision, behavior management and programming of the participants in the Afterschool Program. Pharr Family YMCA Location

  • Sports Staff/Referee – Under the supervision of the Association Sports Director, and in accordance with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Sports staff works with parents, children, and volunteer coaches during practices and games. Send resumes or completed applications to Michael Stout at mstout@gastonymca.org or call 704.824.1131 for more information.

 

Stowe Family YMCA Location

  • Afterschool Counselor – Under the supervision of the Afterchool Program Director, and in accordance with the Christian Mission of the YMCA, our Afterschool Counselors are responsible for the supervision and safety of participants, from Preschool to Middles School ages. Our Afterschool Counselors also need high energy and a positive attitude. We currently need persons with availability from 2-6pm weekdays, Monday through Friday. All necessary training is provided through our organization.
  • Childwatch Staff -Under the supervision of the Childwatch Program Director, and in accordance with the Christian Mission of the YMCA, our Childwatch Staff are responsible for the supervision and safety of our On-Site Play Center & Adventure Zone participants. Childwatch Staff should expect to work with ages 6 weeks to 12 years. We currently need persons with availability during evenings and weekends. All necessary training is provided through our organization.

 

  • Program Bus Driver – Under the direction of the Afterschool Director, or his/her designate, and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, the Afterschool Bus driver will be directly responsible for the safety and supervision of participants while being transported on a 60-72 passenger Gaston County Family YMCA bus. Must have a valid CDL license.

 

  • Swim Instructor – Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, and in accordance with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the swim instructor teaches lessons in accordance with American Red Cross or YMCA guidelines. Send resumes or completed applications to Jeff Pesesky at jpesesky@gastonymca.org.

 

 

  • Chair Yoga Instructor – Under the supervision of the Wellness Director, and in accordance with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the chair yoga instructor teaches classes that follow certification guidelines and YMCA guidelines.   • RPM Instructor – Under the supervision of the Wellness Director, and in accordance with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the cycle instructor teaches classes that follow cycle instructor certification guidelines and YMCA guidelines.   • Silver Sneakers Instructor – Under the supervision of the Wellness Director, and in accordance with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Silver Sneaker instructor teaches classes that follow certification guidelines and YMCA guidelines.   • Youth Fitness Instructor – Under the supervision of the Wellness Director, and in accordance with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Youth Fitness instructor teaches youth and teen classes as well as homeschool wellness that follows YMCA guidelines.   • Wellness Coach – Under the supervision of the Wellness Director, and in accordance with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Wellness Coach educates and instructors members on proper technique, builds relationships, enforces fitness center rules, etc. Wellness background or certification preferred. Warlick Family YMCA Location

  • Childwatch Counselor- Under the Supervision of the Coordinator and Director and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, this position will be responsible for the supervision, behavior management and programming of the participants in the Play Center and Adventure Zone at the Warlick Family YMCA.
